Refund & Return Policy
How returns, refunds, and damaged-shipment claims work on Paragraph orders shipped within the United States.
This Refund & Return Policy describes how LBMGB LLC (dba A Route West / Avenor), the U.S. merchant of record for the Paragraph brand, handles returns, refunds, and shipment-issue claims for orders placed at us.paragraph.wine (the "Site"). It is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service.
Quick summary
Paragraph is a perishable beverage. We do not accept returns of opened bottles, but we will replace or refund any order that arrives damaged, defective, lost in transit, or significantly different from what you ordered, when reported within 14 days of delivery.
1. What Can Be Returned
Because Paragraph is a perishable, non-alcoholic beverage with limited shelf-temperature tolerance once opened, we generally do not accept returns of opened or partially consumed bottles. Returns of unopened, sealed bottles in their original packaging may be accepted at our discretion within 14 days of delivery, subject to the conditions in Section 4.
2. Damaged, Defective, or Lost Shipments
If your order arrives damaged (broken bottle, leaking case, crushed packaging), defective (off-flavor, foreign material, packaging fault), or missing items, contact us within 14 days of delivery at support@paragraph.wine. Please include:
- Your order number.
- Photos of the outer carton, the affected bottle(s), and the packing slip if available.
- A short description of the issue.
If the carrier marks your order as delivered but you have not received it, please first check with neighbors and your building's mail room, then contact us within 7 days of the carrier's delivery scan so we can open a trace.
We will arrange a free replacement or, at your election, a refund of the affected portion of your order, including any shipping you paid that is attributable to the damaged or lost goods. We do not require return of damaged bottles in most cases.
3. Returns by Choice (Unopened Bottles)
If you change your mind about an unopened, undamaged order, contact us within 14 days of delivery at support@paragraph.wine to request a return authorization (RA). Returns sent without an RA may be refused or may delay your refund.
Return-by-choice orders are subject to:
- Bottles must be unopened, sealed, and in original outer packaging.
- You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error or a damaged/defective shipment under Section 2.
- Original outbound shipping is non-refundable on return-by-choice orders.
- We may apply a restocking fee of up to 15% for opened outer packaging or partial-case returns.
- We do not accept return-by-choice on orders flagged as final sale, on subscription deliveries past the cancellation window, or on promotional/gifted orders that did not include payment.
4. Refund Method and Timing
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Once we receive your returned bottles or confirm a damaged-shipment claim, allow:
- 3–5 business days for us to process and issue the refund.
- 5–10 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your bank or card issuer.
If you paid with a gift card or store credit, we will refund to the same balance.
5. Order Cancellations and Changes
You may cancel or modify an order before it ships by emailing support@paragraph.wine with your order number. Once an order has been handed to the carrier, we cannot intercept it; please follow Section 2 (damaged) or Section 3 (return-by-choice) instead.
6. Subscription Orders
If you subscribe to recurring Paragraph deliveries, you may pause, skip, or cancel future shipments at any time through your account. Subscription deliveries that have already shipped are subject to this Policy and are not automatically refunded on cancellation.
7. Items Not Eligible for Refund
- Bottles damaged after delivery through normal handling, storage, or use.
- Bottles past their "best by" date due to delayed consumption by the customer.
- Gift cards (non-returnable, non-refundable except where required by law).
- Orders refused at delivery for non-damage reasons (these may be returned to us; refunds will exclude outbound shipping and may be subject to a restocking fee).
8. Address Errors and Undeliverable Packages
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. If a package is returned to us as undeliverable due to an incorrect address, refused delivery, or repeated failed delivery attempts, we will contact you to arrange a reship at your cost or to issue a refund net of original shipping and any applicable restocking fee.
9. State-Law Notices
California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and certain other states require specific disclosures regarding consumer refunds. Nothing in this Policy limits any non-waivable rights you may have under your state's consumer-protection laws.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund & Return Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Changes apply to orders placed after the change is posted; orders placed before will continue to be governed by the version in effect at the time of purchase.
